Calling a place home isn’t always easy. Add in the price range, the size of home you’re looking for and commute time it’s not easy at times. Many people call an area home what relates to them and what they feel comfortable with. When I moved to Boston sixteen years ago I knew nothing. Every place I visited in mass was a new experience. Even now as an agent in the real estate business I am always learning something new from my coworkers and friends who have called mass home their entire life. I recently learned that many people in the state if they are born and raised on the North Shore or South Shore they never switch and live on the other side. I never knew that folks ties to where they grew up are that strong. North Shore is defined north of Boston along the Atlantic coast. There are roughly twenty-two towns that makeup North Shore. North Shore is located along Route One. Some familiar towns that are considered north shore are Salem Mass, Marblehead, Swampscott to name a few. If you’re looking to spend under 500,000 to buy a home there are options on the market to call home, and some are fairly close to MBTA Commuter rail.
